Farmers Walk
Review Brent:
Farmers walk was pretty light at 225 lbs per hand. Some fast times. Dave was blazing fast with just under 19 seconds. Espey was going good until he tripped close to the end. My time was off from my practice times.
Al:
David Ostlund was very fast. 18.5 seconds. I managed 2nd in 21.78. I was pleased with my walk as I beat Scotty Cummine by a few steps. Rules Competitors carry two cylinders (225 lbs per hand, 160 feet) from a start line to a pylon (80 ft), and then back to the finish line (80 ft). There will be two competitors per heat, racing against each other and the clock. The cylinders may be dropped and picked up again. Fastest time, or longest measured distance wins.
Rules
Time will be stopped when any part of a competitor's body breaks the plane of the finish line. Competitors must make a full turn around the pylon. If a competitor kicks the pylon over with any part of his body or crosses the center line a 10 second penalty will be assessed. There is a 90 second time limit on this event.
Note: Only the top fourteen competitors in this event will advance to the rest of the competition. Others are considered eliminated. Please remember that entry fees are non refundable.
Circle of Pain
Review Brent:
The circle was pretty good. My guess would be that it compared to around 600lbs in plated on the pulse circle. Scott easily beat everyone in this one.
Al:
It was a decent weight but the basket with the weight swayed and gave guys a lot of trouble. Scott won this event with just over two rotations. Dave was 2nd. I was 3rd. Rules One competitor at a time, with arms in front, will lift a horizontal pole and walk in a circle. The pole is weighted to 600 lbs and is anchored to a pivot point. We estimate the competitor will be lifting 75 % of the total weight. The farthest distance traveled before the skid plate touches the ground wins.
Rules
There is no time limit. The lift ends when the skid plate touches the ground. The farthest distance wins.
Truck Pull
Review Brent:
One of the easiest truck pulls I have ever done. Semi was moving so fast we were worried it would drive over the competitors at the end of the pull. Most guys were under 18 seconds on this one.
Al:
This event was not great. Downhill grade made for an extremely easy pull. All times were between 16 and 21 seconds. Dave narrowly edged out Scott and Travis in this event. My technique was terrible and I finished in 17.46. Rules One competitor at a time will race against the clock pulling a semi (18,408 lbs) using a harness. Competitors will also be able to use a rope to pull hand over hand.
Rules
The judge will blow a whistle once any part of the competitor’s body has crossed the finish line and the timer will stop.
Tire Flip
Review Brent:
Well..these were my tires..so…what can I say. Travis really did well..was impressed with his speed. Al also did well despite his puking. Makes me wonder what his time would have been had he not. My time was a little off from training..but not too bad.
Al:
A very tough tire. Travis really improved and ended up beating Brent in their heat with a time of 63 seconds. I had a good run going and then started puking ( I did manage to finish while puking) but it cost me some time. I finished 2nd. Scott and Dave went last. Scott was 1 point ahead of me going into this event. Dave finished and Scott showed what kind of heart he has as he never quit ( even though he was having trouble ) and finished in 2 min 44 seconds!! I was ready to puke again just watching the pain he was in Rules Two competitors will flip a 800lb tractor tire 70 feet end over end untill the tire crosses the 70 foot line. Aprox. 8 flips.
Rules
Tire starts flat on the ground, no tacky is alowed. The fastest time wins.
