Brent:
Another great competition in Dauphin. This was one of the closest ones in a while. Going into the final event there were ties for 1st and 2nd, 3rd and 4th, and 5th and 6th. And any one of those could have gotten 1st overall if things went a certain way. LWT was close too. We were in a different arena and that worked pretty well, but there were less spectators.
Al:
Dauphin was my first ever strongman contest and I enjoy going back there every year. It feels good to be the first ever TWO - TIME Lug a Link Champ.

Prizes
Open ($1,100, $600, $300)
231LB ($700, $300, $100)
$100 Per Event Win
Farmers Walk
Review
Brent:
Very high pick with an implement that most found harder then usual. I think it was because of the wight being out to the sides. My best in training was 100' only managed half of that here. Al had an easy win here. Most people did not do as well as they had thought. But..Nick and Curt both improved on their training bests. Strange..since the three of us train together. No one used the 260lb implements.
Al:
Awkward implements. They scratched the heck out of my right calf. I went 150 + feet and thought for sure I would get beat. Soehow my distance held up and I won the event.

Rules
Competitors carry two Chain Link implements as far as they can. No drops allowed. Course will have a turn at 80 feet. Competitors can choose between 300 and 260 lb implements. Competitor with the longest carry wins. Competitors carrying the 260’s cannot beat anyone carrying the 300’s. This will be a head to head event. Chalk allowed but not supplied. NO TACKY OR STRAPS.
Tire Flip
Review
Brent:
I liked this tire, a tall farm tractor type tire. It felt pretty good but I was having a hard time with getting a grip fast. I started with low grip, then switched about half way. I think the mid grip was the best for me. Scott ripped though this in 37 seconds, with Nick in second with 50.
Al:
A hard tire. Weight was light but hard to get a good grip. Nick and I had a good battle but he edged me out. Scott flew through the course and had a dominating performance.

Rules
Competitors will flip a 740lb tire 80’. Head to head competition. Fastest time wins. Chalk allowed but not supplied. NO TACKY OR STICKUM
Super Yoke
Review
Brent:
Usually I am good with the yoke, but not this time. Implement was pretty good, long flat bar across your back/shoulders. Could not hold onto the uprights. Best training time for me as 22 seconds, only managed 38 here. Ryan was great, winning with 19 seconds.
Al:
A nice Implement. Felt really good on the shoulders. Gino and Ryan and Ed were really close. I set the implement to high and had it bouncing all over the place.

Rules
Competitor’s choice of 600 or 750lb yoke X 80 feet. Those choosing 600 cannot beat those carrying 750. Fastest time wins.
PT Cruiser Race
Review
Brent:
Some guys figured no one would finish this. I tried my best, and got really close. The pick-up was easy…walking was easy..it just wore down your grip. After my first drop I paused for a while, but still could not finish. So close. Al won this by almost 20 seconds over Travis.
Al:
I loved this event. I had a good run at 28 seconds and no putdowns.

Rules
Head to Head event with wheelbarrow handles attached to receiver hitch of a P.T.CRUISER. Weight will be approx. 750lbs. course is 80 feet. Fastest competitor to complete the distance wins. One drop allowed. NO STRAPS, NO TACKY OR STICKUM.
Stone Press
Review
Brent:
I had done lots of stone pressing with my 185 before the show, and though I would do really well here. But that was not to be. I got stuck at 185, kept gripping it wrong. Once I finally got a good lift I was to tired for the 205. I still cleaned it, but no press. Very frustrating. Ed was so close to getting the 225. Since many of these guys can press over 300, you can imagine how hard it was to press the shapes we had here.
Al:
Hard. First 3 stones were alright. Last 2 very awkward. Have a nice mark on my head from setting the 205 down.

Rules
FIELD STONE CLEAN AND PRESS Athletes will Clean and Press 5 field stones. 150 lbs, 160 lbs, 185 lbs, 205 lbs, 225 lbs. Only full lock outs will be counted. Referee will signal good lift when in full lock out. Athlete who completes all 5 lifts the fastest, wins. Chalk alowed but not supplied. NO TACKY OR STICKUM.
Medley
Review
Brent:
I liked the car flip. Was actually pretty easy. In fact, all went well for me untill the chain drag. I slipped three times. My shoes had 0 traction so I had to jerk it back all the way to finish. I lost several seconds because of this. Oh well..learnt something! Scott beat Gino by 7 seconds for the win here.
Al:
I made a small mistake on the car flip and it cost me about 3 positions. Scotty "Medley" Cummine destroyed everybody.

Rules
1. CAR FLIP - car must flip back on to its’ wheels 2. FIELD STONE LOAD - 205lbs, 225lbs, 285lbs on to a 50 inch platform. Stones must be placed on the platform. SPOTTERS WILL NOT ASSIST WITH KEEPING THE STONES ON THE PLATFORM. 3. CHAIN DRAG - Drag 500lb chain to the finish line 50 feet. Entire chain must cross the line. Head to head event with the fastest time winning. Chalk allowed. NO STRAPS, TACKY OR STICKUM.
Truck Pull
Review
Brent:
The first pull really killed my hands, I gave my all and hadly pulled the thing (I was in the harder lane). Second time around I did better, but not by much. Everything was just to tired on me to pull any more. Still, I liked the event. The chain links dragging behind the truck, with low tire pressure, made a big difference.
Al:
Truck pull #1 - I was in the easy lane. Still a really hard pull at 1:19. Gino was amazing at 41 seconds. I beleive Crawford mada a good decision about scrapping the event and doing it over.
Truck pull #2 - Me and Ed for all the marbles. I pulled as hard as I could for 2 full minutes and managed to get further than Ed. May have been the hardest pull I have ever done. Gino was the only one to finish and it took him 1:52.

Rules
HAND OVER HAND TRUCK PULL 80’ course on level cement surface. Grain elevator rope will be used. Vehicle to be determined. Chalk allowed but not supplied. NO TACKY OR STICKUM.
