Review Brent:
Nick gets his win....he put it all together and had a great day. Travis had really improved, seems like his overhead is really good..especially when he was doing the fingers... Jeff is also did really good. He competed with the injured arm all day, so double impressive. Great to have him make the trip up from MN. Me ..well..everything went pretty good...should have got one or two more on the log, but i was unstable today and burnt alot of energy on the cleans. Screwed up on the carry...one of those events when, well..its nice to know what line you need to beat. I should know better.
Saw lots of relativly new guys giving it their all at was a fairly heavy show. Great to see..hope everyone sticks around for some 'easier' ones and joins us at the MASA windup!
Jeromy and Jon ran a great show once again. Huge crowd..allways cheering. Look forward to next year! Prizes $1000, $700, $400
$100 for each event win.
Atlas Stones Review Brent:
Nick won this on is 25 seconds or so. Very fast. Nick 'The Stone Man' haha. Travis was the only other guy to finish all 5. Jeff got injured when the first stone fell of the platform and hit the back side of his arm pretty hard. I managed 3 stones....345 eludes me in a series every time. Rules 235lbs to 65”
270lbs to 59“
300lbs to 53”
330lbs to 47”
360lbs to 41”
Tacky allowed.
Log Press Review Brent:
Many of the competitors struggled with the 250lb 12" log. Travis won..i am not sure, but think he did 5 reps. Nick was 2nd with 3, I got 2 reps for third. Jeff with one rep...after which he let go of the log and was done..though he would have done more i am sure. Rules 250lb log clean and press on each rep.
90 second time limit.
Log may be put down, but you must allways keep contact with the log.
Seated Pull Review Brent:
Uphill semi pull. Only Nick finished. 2nd was Jeff, then Travis i think. Michael had a pretty good pull for 4th..me in 5th. ARGHHH. Rules Semi Pull with 1.5" rope
80' Course.
Manitoba Stone Review Brent:
Nice event..cool looking stone. Nice on the arms as it did not tear you up. I went 80' for 1st at the time...should have turned and kept going. Jeff won with about 120' then Nick, Travis, and me. Rules Competitors will carry a stone shaped like Manitoba for max distance.
400 lbs.
90 Second time limit.
No put downs.
Fingal Fingers Review Brent:
Travis blasted through the first three. Very explosive off the lift and fast all the way. He got part way on the 4th...amazing! Jeff got 2nd, then Nick and me in 4th. Top 4 all got the first 3, but was based on time as well. Rules 4 fingers for fastest time.
