Brent - We had 9 competitors, including 4 from out of prov. Good turn out. Spectators were low..not sure why. Was pretty hot out, or so it felt. Maybe not in shape! Vern did an excellent job as head ref, and all the helpers were greatly appreciated, as well as Candace doing massage for those in need. Very close in the end between Tyler and myself, but i managed to hold onto my lead thru out the contest. Tyler is getting quicker, definitly a threat this year. Donne too is getting better, needs more overhead strength. JOhn and Stuart ended in tie, broken cause John won the yoke event. Was good to meet Stuart and Nathan. Nathan tore up the farms, and had me pretty worried. Was great to have Duane out again. Think he did good, and some more event time would really help him. Evan was not into it today...tired i think. And Adam came into the comp with a back injury, which was not helping him any.
Tyler - Hey all, thanks Brent for putting htis contest on. Thanks as well to Vern for being the referee. Also to Jon, Adam, Stu and Nathan for making the trip out to compete. Hope all went well in the 2 door car.....I assume that the trip back may have been harder than the one here.
It was nice to see some old faces and meet the new ones, dinner afterwards was great, I must conceded that i did not finish my meal (ok the 1st one I finished no problem but didn't completely finish the 2nd....I have also weighed myself today and dropped a couple of lbs from last week).

Farmers Walk
Review
Brent - We used the small pulse implements for this, 100'and back. We were supposed to go around the pylon, either turing around it..or going past, dropping and coming back around the other side. Adam...was not listening in the meeting or something. He ran to the end, put them down, then ran around the pylon once (with out the implements) then came back with them. On the wrong side, but we let him go anyway. Pretty funny. Hope someone caught that on video. Myself and Nathan had the best time, but don't really think we were very fast. We were the only two that did not drop them. Last year don did it in 32.50 so he lost .05 of a second.
Tyler - Brent won the fw, having to go around the pylon was a little different and it had at least one different interpretation.

Rules
220lb farmers 200' turn at 100' Competitors must go around the pylon, but may drop past the pylon and go back on the other side. unlimited drops Two competitors at a time. Start will be done with hands off the implements. Time will be recorded when any part of the implement crosses the finish line. 90 Second time limit
Tire Flip
Review
Brent - We used the smaller 650ish tire we picked up last winter. Sadly the tire was not what alot of the guys were used to, and they struggled flipping it. This is one event, that i guess is a bit biased, since i had used the tire in training, and that definitly does give and advantage. Tyler, Donnie, and Evan all had used it a bit too. I hammered out 13 flips in 1:35 for the win. 2nd went to tyler with 12 flips in 2:00 which was impressive. His cardio is getting better. Best technique for this tire seemed to be to deadlift it up..pulling as high as you could, then flipping it over. One motion for the 1st flip or two for me (i think).
Tyler - The tire in 2min was vicous..Brent won with 14 flips, a few other guys had double digits....lots of cardio.

Rules
650lb (approx) tire for 100' No tacky allowed. Sliding the tire when its pushed over is ok. Time will be recorded when and part of tire crosses the finish line. 120 Second time limit
Log Medley
Review
Brent - Very frstrated with what i did here. Got the 1st three pretty quick. Knew what i had to do to beat tyler, tried to press the 250, bent my back in some sorta wierd way and could not get it. I tried to clean it after that..but my back felt really..weak. So left it at that..knowing i was in 2nd in this one, and unable to beat tyler with another crack at it. Tyler was really fast through all four. Crocker blasted up three really quick too. Tyler wanted to do a 300lb demonstration press and blew it. Think he learnt a lesson!
Tyler - I won the log medley....I then was going to show off and press 300...I didn't....serves me right.

Rules
175-200-225-250 lb logs 8"-10"-10"-13" logs Competitor must wait for down single to put log down on tires. Log must be locked out over head, and in control Feet placed fairly close together. 90 Second time limit
Yoke
Review
Brent - Another event that did not go my way. I started with the yoke set lower then normal (I have been training my starts that way, and had been starting with it already on my back). But we ended up doing the start with it on the ground. I should have raised it up one hole, but left it. So, when i tried to start quick, it messed me up and i dropped it like 5 feet in. I did manage an ok time but was 2 seconds away from Crocker, who ripped up the 100' in 13 seconds. Tyler was also in the 13 second range.
Tyler - Crocker won the yoke, 56o lbs for 100 ft...very quick. Brent the bar set lower than normal causing him to stumble out of the blocks but he recovered and finished fine.

Rules
540lb Yoke 100' Unlimited drops Height will be adjusted for each competitor No sliding, 5 second penalty at refs discretion. Ref will ask you to lift, then say Mark-set-go. 90 Second time limit.
Atlas Stones
Review
Brent - I was in 1st heading into the last event, with Tyler two points away. I knew what i needed to do when it came to me. Stuart loaded all 6, as did Tyler, but the time gap was about 15 seconds, so as long as i did better the Stuart i would take the win. I went pretty quick, popping up the first 4 or 5 in one motion, but paused a bit on the 6th. Ended up .09 of a second slower then tyler.
Tyler - I won the stone loading narrowly beating brent by less that .1s

Rules
