Review
Brent - was hard to not be in this contest, but fun at the same time. Everything seemed to run very well and smooth. We were asked to slow down several times! Partly cause we only had seven guys, and partly because we kept it moving pretty fast. Grant did a great job as ref, he has a lot of knowledge and experience. Brad Provick was awesome on the mic. Weather was great! Impressive performances from the guys going to CSM. Scott was on fire, very intense, fast and strong, winning 5 of 7 events. John did very well, and was great having him out. Mo, very strong and fun to watch.
Prizes
$625, $475, $325, $175, $50
Trophy for 1st Place

Max DL
Review Brent - we started out with normal plates at 18" and went 550, 600, 650. Then switched to the flint stones for 685-700-725-750 etc. The event moved fast, was pretty exciting to watch. Mo won, and still choose to come out and try 900. Very impressive. Travis pulling a solid 725 was great. Eric hit a PR at 600. Used a lot of 'leg' to get it done. Rules Max 18" DL -- Conventional only (no sumo). Last man standing. Each
competitor has 60 seconds (after strapping in) to make their called
weight. Every competitor must lift every weight in order to stay in.
DL/squat suits, straps allowed. Competitor must exhibit true lockout;
e.g. hips through, shoulders back, knees locked, feet steady, MUST WAIT
FOR DOWN SIGNAL. A competitor is out immediately upon failure to lock out
the weight properly within 60 seconds.
Atlas Stones
Review Brent - I think the deadlift took a lot out of the guys. The stones were a bit harder then most of us had expected. The 420 was not to be. Scott has an easy win getting 4 in 29.55 seconds. Very fast.John also got 4 but took him 47 seconds. Rules Atlas Stones -- 90 second time limit, tacky allowed.
270 - 64"
305 - 58"
335 - 52"
365 - 46"
420 - 40"
RULES: Athlete will stand behind a line until the referee's signal.
Athlete must maintain control of stones while loading or when on platform.
There is a divot on each platform in which stones can rest; if the stone
rolls off the platform, the athlete MUST reload it to continue. Lap time
or finish time will be taken when the stone is stable on the platform and
hands are lifted from the stone. Helper may be there to assist with
tacky, but must try to remain unobtrusive; i.e. not blocking audience
sightlines

rearmost implement. If both implements are not fully across the start

Log Press
Review To Come Rules Log for reps -- choice of 250 or 300 lb, 60 sec. Clean once, press for
reps. Arms must be locked out, feet parallel, body still and head through,
looking at referee for a rep to count, and MUST wait for referee signal
before lowering log. Control of log MUST be maintained at all times.

locking out joints must be demonstrated to referee and accepted during the
rules meeting. If competitor is UNSUCCESSFUL at the higher weight, he
may, if still within the time limit,
attempt the lower weight. One rep with 300 lb beats any number of reps
with 250 lb. Everyone can attempt the 300 lb log. If unsuccessful with

and will have another 60 seconds to attempt reps with the 250 log
